As Dean of the Graduate School of Intercultural Communication at OCU, I would like to invite those seeking to further their education and broaden their horizons to join us in advanced studies of English education or intercultural communication. The dual concentrations of the School, grounded in the Christian traditions of peace and service to community and humankind, prepare our graduates to excel in their fields of work and study.

Evening and Saturday courses allow our research students to undertake their graduate studies even while they work in their jobs. Our students are studying not only to deepen their understanding of their specialized field, but also to acquire the qualifications they need to advance.

The multicultural graduate faculty are experts in their fields, widely published in both English and Japanese, and are committed to developing the next generation of researchers and professionals. Students who enter the program benefit immensely from the great diversity of perspectives that inform the teaching and development of research projects undertaken in either English or Japanese. These opportunities in advanced studies develop higher levels of communication and inter-personal skills needed for understanding and thriving in this 21st Century.
