Admission Policy
Educational Philosophy
We nurture individuals who can confidently play an active role in diversifying global and Okinawan society by entirely using English, the international “lingua franca,” and advanced communication skills.
Who we are looking for:
- We seek students who strive to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to become a bridge between Okinawa and the world.
- We seek students who can use English confidently and want to play an active role in society using English.
- We seek students willing to think for themselves and make their own decisions without being swayed by the information around them.
- We seek students with the essential communication skills to express themselves in society while respecting the opinions of others and working together with those around them.
- We seek students interested in various social issues and willing to learn on their own initiative.
Courses to be taken in high school and qualifications to be obtained.
Students are encouraged to study all subjects actively. We expect students to develop an interest in issues facing Okinawa and the world through a wide range of upper secondary school curricula.
Work to improve your ability to listen to others, express your own opinions, and actively engage with people through on- and off-campus study, club activities, volunteering, and activities in the local community. Also, by interacting with people from diverse backgrounds, you will have opportunities to experience values and ideas different from yours. To make the most of your studies at the university, you should have English proficiency at Level 2 or above on the Practical English Proficiency Test.
Curriculum Policy
We provide education to study Christian culture and the spirit of Jesus Christ, and to develop self-understanding and empathy for others toward peacemaking. We provide education to improve practical English skills rooted in a broad perspective (English proficiency). We educate students to become proactive and collaborative communicators with presentation, self-expression, information transmission skills, and empathy (ability to communicate).
We provide an education that allows students to deepen their understanding and empathy for others from different cultures and backgrounds by acquiring a wide range of knowledge, logical and critical thinking skills, and international and intercultural understanding.
We provide education that fosters the ability to discover and solve problems through collaboration.
Diploma Policy
Graduating students must be able to respect themselves and others, actively seek mutual understanding, and work together to create peace, have acquired advanced English language proficiency and communication skills, be able to use logical thinking, have developed a critical mind nurtured through a broad-based education to face the challenges of a globalizing society, have a deep understanding of the challenges facing the local and international community and to be able to act and contribute independently as a member of that community.
Admission Policy
- Applicants must agree with the “Founding Spirit” of the University and willing to contribute proactively to a peaceful society.
- Applicants must be willing to learn the language, tourism, culture, and communicate with others.
- Applicants must be interested in societal issues and willing to proactively interact and coexist with people of different cultures and values.
- Applicants must have acquired the basic academic skills (knowledge, thinking, initiative, etc.) that should be mastered in high school.
- Applicants must have a sense of purpose and desire to contribute to the local community and international society based on the knowledge and experience gained at the University.
Curriculum Policy
- We provide students with an education that fosters peace by broadly studying Christian culture and history.
- We provide education cultivating high-level professional skills through extensive study of tourism, culture, history, and languages.
- We provide education that fosters the ability to work flexibly and ethically with others and to develop communication skills.
- We educate students to understand cultural resources, hospitality, and sustainability and develop the ability and qualities to work independently to solve these issues.
- We educate students to acquire the broad information literacy that arises in a global society, to cultivate a spirit of multicultural conviviality, and to nurture their human potential.
Diploma Policy
Our graduates aim to:
- Respect self and others, actively seek mutual understanding, and work together to create peace.
- Have a high level of operational and communication skills in English.
- Be able to face the challenges of a globalized society by using logical thinking and a critical spirit nurtured by a broad range of education.
- Have a deep understanding of the issues facing local and international communities and be able to act and contribute proactively as a member of those communities.
